Ingredients:
- 1/2 kilo pork meat cut in medium cubes
- 1/2 carrots cut into cubes
- 2 potatoes cut in cubes
- 2 tbsp. corntstarch (dissolved in 1/2 cup water)
- 1 tsp. ground black pepper
- 3 bay leaves(laurel)
- salt to taste
- 1 bell pepper cut into cubes
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1/4 onion diced
- 1 pork cubes(optional)
- 1 cup water
Here's How / Procedure to Cook Afritada:
- Heat oil. Saute' garlic and onion. Add pork and saute until the outer part turns light brown
- Add bay leaves(laurel), tomato sauce, and ground black pepper. Mix well. Cover about 1 to 3 minutes.
- Add 1 cup of water and simmer for about 30 to 40 minutes or until pork is tender.
- Add potatoes, and carrots. Simmer for about 5 minutes or more until medium cooked.
- Add bell pepper and season with salt. Simmer for about 3 minutes.
- Add dissolved cornstarch. Mix well. Turn off heat and simmer with remaining heat.
- Serve.
